이 작품은 샤르팡티에의 성악곡 “아! 욕망을 품은 것이 참으로 불행하구나(Ah! Qu’on est malheureux d’avoir eu des désirs)”에 기반하고 있다. 그러나 텍스트는 소거되고, 몇 개의 파편만이 재료로서 기능한다. 불과 6분 남짓의 시간 동안에도 그 파편들은 계속 재구성되며 자신을 드러낸다. 이로 인해 제목 때문에 선택된 원곡은, 역설적으로 그 제목과 유리된 채 점차 존재감을 잃고 희미해진다.

This work is based on Charpentier’s vocal piece “Ah! Qu’on est malheureux d’avoir eu des désirs”. Yet the text is erased, leaving only fragments that serve as material. Within the brief span of about five minutes, these fragments are continually reconstructed, revealing themselves anew. Paradoxically, the original piece—chosen for its title—gradually loses its very identity, fading into obscurity.
